Prayer gives us strength for great ideals, for keeping up our faith, charity, purity, generosity; prayer gives us strength to rise up from indifference and guilt, if we have had the misfortune to give in to temptation and weakness. Prayer gives us light by which to see and to judge from God's perspective and from eternity. That is why you must not give up on praying!

There is nothing but water in the holy pools. I know, I have been swimming there. All the gods sculpted of wood or ivory can't say a word. I know, I have been crying out to them. The Sacred Books of the East are nothing but words. I looked through their covers one day sideways. What Kabir talks of is only what he has lived through. If you have not lived through something, it is not true.

If death were the end, then there is no God, and there are no realised masters - it is all a pack of lies. The great ones wouldn't urge you to became better, for what would be the use if, good or bad, we are all junked at the end of life? What would be the value of the scriptures? There would be no justice whatsoever if this present existence is all there is to each individual life. What of those souls who lived only a few years, or lived in blind or crippled bodies?

The Hereafter does not shine before those who are lacking in the power of discrimination and are easily carried away therefore by the charm of fleeting objects. As children are tempted by toys, so they are tempted by pleasure, power, name and fame. To them these seem the only realities. Being thus attached to perishable things, they come many times under the dominion of death. There is one part of us which must die; there is another part which never dies. When a man can identify himself with his undying nature, which is one with God, then he overcomes death.

There's no God higher than truth.

God, provide me with enough sustenance that my family is taken care of, that neither I remain hungry, nor does my guest go unfed.

Have "eternal wait," infinite patience. When you have infinite patience, you will realize God belongs to you. Either through awareness or through practice you reach the same spot.

Marriage is more attachment. You need more devotion and discipline to have union with God when you are married.

I have been all things unholy. If God can work through me, he can work through anyone.

Duty is God; Work is worship.

Self-realization means to know truth through yourself, and not through others. By seeking God first, through Self-realization, all things—strength, power, prosperity, wisdom, health, and immortality—will be added unto you.

God and love are identical, and one who has divine love has received God.

Heart is the place of emotion, ego, and attachment. You have to rise above all the propensities of the heart. Clean it thoroughly, surrendering it to God through regular prayer and meditation, and through sincere and steadfast effort.

The best form in which to worship God is every form.

Shri Hanuman ji saw all women as the Mother…. You have to understand the Mother to realize God.

God made cows and animals with their spines parallel to the ground. They have no rationality. Your spine is vertical, which enables you to evolve and grow faster.

Even kings and emperors, with mountains of property and oceans of wealth - these are not even equal to an ant, who does not forget God.

Why is it so difficult to find God? Because you're looking for something you've never lost.

God is in all men, but all men are not in God; that is why we suffer.

The body is only a garment. How many times you have changed your clothing in this life, yet because of this you would not say that you have changed. Similarly, when you give up this bodily dress at death you do not change. You are just the same, an immortal soul, a child of God.

The sum of all that lives is God.

Artistic talent is a gift from God and whoever discovers it in himself has a certain obligation: to know that he cannot waste this talent, but must develop it.

He is the wisest who seeks God. He is the most successful who has found God.
