Do few things but do them well, simple joys are holy.

When your real, effortless, joyful grateful nature is realized, it will not be inconsistent with the ordinary activities of life.

In the spiritual life one becomes just like a little child, without resentment, without attachment, full of life and joy.

If you are having the experience of anxiety, your body is making adrenaline and cortisone, if you are having the experience of tranquility, your body starts making valium, if you are having the experience of exhilaration and joy, your body makes interleukins and interferons which are powerful anti-cancer drugs. So, your body is constantly converting your experiences into molecules.

And the final reason is that the world is just a play. The saint was enjoying the play of a child, and the child was enjoying the play of a saint.

Christians will want to be in the vanguard in favoring ways of life that decisively break with the exhausting and joyless frenzy of consumerism.

....service can have no meaning unless one takes pleasure in it. When it is done for show or for fear of public opinion, it stunts the man and crushes his spirit. Service which is rendered without joy helps neither the servant nor the served.

You can become a night watchman and live happily. It is what you are inwardly that matters. Your inner peace and joy you have to earn. It is much more difficult than earning money. No university can teach you to be yourself.
