If you want to have life, you have to die every moment for it. Life and death are only different expressions of the same thing looked at from different standpoints; they are the falling and the rising of the same wave, and the two form one whole.

There are two levels to your pain: the pain that you create now, and the pain from the past that still lives on in your mind and body. Ceasing to create pain in the present and dissolving past pain - this is what I want to talk about now.

Never be petty. Do not feed resentments against anyone. I prefer good-hearted sinners to so-called good people who are intolerant and devoid of compassion. Being spiritual is to have an open mind, understand and forgive, and be friends with everyone.

Do not waste your time with trivial matters. Be sincere and serious in your practice, practice with love, and find inner transformation.

A saint is a sinner who never gave up.

A single moment of love is equal to the whole eternity of love.

The more veiled becomes the outside world, steadily losing in colour, tone and passions, the more urgently the inner world calls us

Since at the beginning and end of our lives we are so dependent on other's kindness, how can it be in the middle that we would neglect kindness towards others?

Wake up and realize this is all made up of thoughts, just thoughts. Your appreciation of beauty is a thought; your aversion to an object that is ugly is a thought. Your craving or aversion is nothing but a passing thought in the mind. Realize this is just a thought and you will be free.

Opting for peace does not mean a passive acquiescence to evil or compromise of principle. It demands an active struggle against hatred, oppression and disunity, but not by using methods of violence. Building peace requires creative and courageous action.

What does our generation owe to generations yet unborn? ...there is an order in the universe which must be respected, and... the human person, endowed with the capability of choosing freely, has a grave responsibility to preserve this order for the well-being of future generations.

Let this be the criterion always: anything that makes you festive, anything that gives you celebration, anything that makes you dance and sing to such an extent that you disappear in your dancing, in your singing, in your celebration... is the only true religion I know of.

Emptiness is a symptom that you are not living creatively. You either have no goal that is important enough to you, or you are not using your talents and efforts in striving toward an important goal.

If we serve someone with love and affection, blessings will pour from that person’s heart, without even asking.

If you use your mind to study reality, you won't understand either your mind or reality. If you study reality without using your mind, you'll understand both.

Be sincere in your thoughts, be pure in your feelings. You will not have to run after happiness. Happiness will run after you.

There never can have been, and never can be, and there never shall be any sin without pride.

Actually, when your heart is pained to see the suffering of others, it awakens actual spiritual ecstasy. Why? As it is pleasing Krishna, and we are sharing Krishna’s spirit of love in a mood of servitude.

The world is a bride of surpassing beauty-but remember that this maiden is never bound to anyone.

But people of the deepest understanding look within, distracted by nothing. Since a clear mind is the Buddha, they attain the understanding of a Buddha without using the mind.

A wise person does not undertake any business with the risk of losing the capital money in search of making a profit.

Now that all your worry has proved such an unlucrative business. Why not find a better job.

On some dimension or other, every event in life can be causing only one of two things: either it is good for you, or it is bringing up what you need to look at in order to create good for you. Evolution is win-win…life is self-correcting.
