A man ought to live in this world like a lotus leaf, which grows in water but is never moistened by water; so a man ought to live in the world - his heart to God and his hands to work.

The higher Truth is all the time working in us but through the lower power - Aparashakti. It is when we become conscious of the play of this higher Power then only yoga begins.

A workman who wants to do his work well must first prepare his tools.

It is the nature of love to work in a thousand different ways.

Humility must accompany all our actions, must be with us everywhere; for as soon as we glory in our good works they are of no further value to our advancement in virtue.

God has no hands or feet or voice except ours and through these He works.

Whether you like it or not, whether you know it or not, secretly all nature seeks God and works toward [God].

The outward work can never be small if the inward one is great, and the outward work can never be great or good if the inward is small or of little worth.

The spiritual seeker should not worry about who the guru is, or what the guru will do. The seeker’s first concern is getting prepared, organizing his or her life and thoughts in a spiritually healthy way, and then working toward a way of life that simplifies and purifies. At the right time, the master will be there.

The yoga we practice is not for ourselves alone, but for the Divine; its aim is to work out the will of the Divine in the world, to effect a spiritual transformation and to bring down a divine nature and a divine life into the mental, vital and physical nature and life of humanity. Its object is not personal Mukti, although Mukti is a necessary condition of the yoga, but the liberation and transformation of the human being. It is not personal Ananda, but the bringing down of the divine Ananda - Christ's kingdom of heaven, our Satyayuga - upon the earth.

Zen is not effort. Effort is tension, effort is work, effort is to achieve something. Zen is not something to achieve. You are already that. Just relax, relax so deeply that you become a revelation to yourself.

Be patient in trials, watchful in prayer, and never cease working.

God does work through both pure and impure vessels but that does not mean that one should keep nature impure for ever. When the vessel will become pure the urge for action coming from within will be a flawless, definitive action. As long as that does not happen one has to minimize one's activities.

He who has realized oneness with God possesses all knowledge contained in Him. Knowing the Lord as Beginning and End of all beings and worlds, a true Brahmin has knowledge of the hereafter and of the workings of nature on this plane of existence.

In the light of calm and steady self-awareness, inner energies wake up and work miracles without any effort on your part.

As from a large heap of flowers many garlands and wreaths are made, so by a mortal in this life there is much good work to be done.

Work for God, love God alone, and be wise with God. When an ordinary man puts the necessary time and enthusiasm into meditation and prayer, he becomes a divine man.

In these days of intellectual awakening and steadily asserting public opinion, the holy places of the Hindus, their condition, and method of work have not escaped the keen eye of criticism; and this city, being the holy of holies to all Hindus, has not failed to attract its full share of censure.

Worrying doesn't make any difference, but working does and spirituality gives one the strength to work.

If you feel a sense of social responsibility, first of all keep working on yourself. Being peaceful yourself is the first step if you want to live in a peaceful universe.

Individual Peace paves the way for world peace. The attainment of inner calm is the greatest work you can do for humanity.

Calmness is the criterion of spiritual progress. Plunge the purified mind into the Heart. Then the work is over.

How you all will change the work after I am gone. If I came back a hundred years from now, I just wonder if I would even recognize it.
