Body Quotes
Yoga is a study of life, study of your body, breath, mind, intellect, memory, and ego. Study of your inner faculties!
The mind and the body are like parallel universes. Anything that happens in the mental universe must leave tracks in the physical one.
Don't be afraid. Human birth is full of suffering and one has to endure everything patiently, taking the Name of God. None, not even God in human form can escape the sufferings of the body and mind.
If you want your body and brain to work well, the first thing is to become joyful by your own nature.
A person does not hear sound only through the ears; he hears sound through every pore of his body. It permeates the entire being.
Real renunciation, whether one is a sannyasi, vanaprastha, grihastha or brahmachari, is to use the body, mind, words and life in the service of Krishna, vaisnavas and other living beings.
If you cannot bless yourself, then nobody can bless you.
If you can maintain the siege for long enough, a time will come when no more thoughts arise; or if they do, they will only be fleeting, undistracting images on the periphery of consciousness. In that thought-free state you will begin to experience yourself as consciousness, not as mind or body.
Before you heal the body you must first heal the mind.
The fifty trillion cells in your body are constantly talking to each other as they keep your heart beating, digest your food, eliminate toxins, protect you from infection and disease, and carry out the countless other functions that keep you alive. While these processes may seem out of your conscious control, hundreds of studies have shown that nothing holds more power over the body than the mind.
It's a mistake to think that God has conflict with anything. He's everything. So the more close you are to God, how can you be in conflict with anybody? Conflict comes from ego, and from thinking, "I'm right and you're wrong." If I can reach the point where I understand that what is right for me may be different than what is right for you, that would be a good step. But most people don't reach that point, and so they fight about it.
Mind is only a collection of thoughts and the thinker who thinks them. The thinker is the 'I'-thought, the primal thought which rises from the Self before all others, which identifies with all other thoughts and says, 'I am this body'. When you have eradicated all thoughts except for the thinker himself by ceaseless enquiry or by refusing to give them any attention, the 'I'-thought sinks into the Heart and surrenders, leaving behind it only an awareness of consciousness.
The first part of the verse says, ittham prakalpite dehe: “in this body that was planned before birth by you,” planned by your own karma. Jiva vasati sarvagah: “the individual who is worthy, capable, of going everywhere.” After contemplating these words, should we doubt our situation in life? We plan our lives before birth, as well as our bodies, our environments, and our situations and circumstances. Therefore, we should accept our situation and graciously assume our responsibilities.
Don't follow the mind. Don't follow the body. Follow the Conscience. That is the main principle of this text. So we should follow our Conscience.
There's a moon in my body, but I can't see it! A moon and a sun. A drum never touched by hands, beating, and I can't hear it!
Every morning I offer my body, my mind and any ability that I posses, to be used by Thee, O infinite creator, in whatever way Thou dost choose to express Thyself through me. I know that all work is Thy work, and that no task is too difficult or too menial when offered to Thee in loving service.
Disease is the tax which the soul pays for the body, as the tenant pays house-rent for the use of the house.
Applying body, mind, and speech in action is called Ahingsa (Non-violence).
The soul is something which contains the body. The body doesn't contain the soul. The soul, if we put it into modern language, is the entire complex of relationships in whose context this organism exists.
To see myself in everybody, and everybody in myself, most certainly is love.
I am everybody’s guru.
When the forces that hold it together go away, the body must fall.
The body dies, but the spirit that transcends it cannot be touched by death.
