The beauty and charm of selfless love and service should not die away from the face of this earth. The world should know that a life of dedication is possible, that a life inspired by love and service to humanity is possible.

Till you reach the state of jnana and thus wake out of maya you must do social service by relieving suffering whenever you see it. But even then you must do it without ahankara, i.e., without the sense of 'I am the doer', but with the feeling 'I am the Lord's tool'.

At the heart of silence is prayer. At the heart of prayer is faith. At the heart of faith is life. At the heart of life is service.

Just remember one criterion: whatever you do should not be in the service of destruction, it should be in the service of creativity.

Real love means service devoted to the welfare of another person, even if the person is inimical towards us.

If our desires, words and actions are offered in the spirit of service to the supreme Lord Sri Krishna, then Krishna will personally reciprocate with His love.

We should understand that this desire to be the controller, the enjoyer, and the proprietor, it is the venom of the snake of illusion. It kills one’s propensity for the loving service of the Supreme Lord.

Your own Self-realization is the greatest service you can render the world.

It is not fitting, when one is in God's service, to have a gloomy face or a chilling look.

Service is the highest spiritual discipline. Prayer and meditation, or knowledge of scripture and Vedanta (holy scriptures of India), cannot help you reach the goal as quickly as service can. Service has a double effect, it extinguishes the ego and gives bliss.

All service should be regarded as an offering to God, and every opportunity to serve should be welcomed as a gift from God. When service is done in this spirit, it will lead to self-realization.

Service does not mean I do what I want, when I want. Service means whatever makes Krishna happy.

Telling people of some wonderful service that we have done in a boastful way, nullifies the credit of the service. May not be on the eternal platform, but in our conscious condition we won’t be able to reap the real benefits of that service.

We can sit in classes and hear very nice theoretical philosophy and we can have great conviction of our intelligence. That is very good and important. But factually, unless that philosophical conviction generates a sense of enthusiasm within one’s heart for the service of the Lord, it is like an empty decoration.

Don't expect anything from anybody, this is also a great freedom. Don't expect things to be different or people to be in service to you or your own life or projections. Feel gradually that natural feeling of detachment. Don't watch constantly with the eyes of relationship and past and so on. Stay faithful to your own discovery, leave the rest and life will take care of it.

Do not give up devotional service even if there are innumerable dangers, countless insults and endless harassment. Do not become disheartened that most people in this world do not accept the message of unalloyed devotional service. Never give up your devotional service and hearing and chanting about Krishna which is your everything. Always chant the Holy Name becoming more humble than a blade of grass and more tolerant than a tree.

If a person is cold and rigid, he feels within himself as if he were in a grave. He is not living, he cannot enjoy this life for he cannot express himself and he cannot see the light and life outside. What keeps man from developing the heart quality? His exacting attitude. He wants to make a business of love. He says, 'If you will love me, I will love you.' As soon as a man measures and weighs his favors and his services and all that he does for one whom he loves, he ceases to know what love is. Love sees the beloved and nothing else.

Every scientist, through personal study and research, completes himself and his own humanity. ... Scientific research constitutes for you, as it does for many, the way for the personal encounter with truth, and perhaps the privileged place for the encounter itself with God, the Creator of heaven and earth. Science shines forth in all its value as a good capable of motivating our existence, as a great experience of freedom for truth, as a fundamental work of service. Through research each scientist grows as a human being and helps others to do likewise.

Take a vow for a life of service to others.

If one does everything with the attitude of seva (service), one will enjoy real peace.

The root of happiness is altruism - the wish to be of service to others.

Every thought, word, deed performed in an attempt to find happiness apart from our service to God, further binds us, covers us and entangles us in ignorance.

The Hindu religion appears ... as a cathedral temple, half in ruins, noble in the mass, often fantastic in detail but always fantastic with a significance crumbling or badly outworn in places, but a cathedral temple in which service is still done to the Unseen and its real presence can be felt by those who enter with the right spirit.
