The secret of life is in love: the love of God and the service of humanity.

Those that have an attitude of service towards others are the beauty of society.

If after accepting the spiritual master and being initiated one does not follow the rules and regulations of devotional service, then he is again fallen.

A sincere soul is not trying to make a show. His enthusiasm is an act of service.

Our humble service attitude in our life is what determines what effect chanting will have on our consciousness. Otherwise we can be chanting for millions and millions of births before we actually achieve the goal.

The word “devotion” can not be applied to anything besides ‘Krishna’. ‘Krishna’ is the only subject of devotion. Brahman is the object of knowledge, Paramatma is the object of nearness, but Krishna is the only object of service.

Gandhi has sound economic and cultural reasons for encouraging the revival of cottage industries, but he does not counsel a fanatical repudiation of all modern progress. Machinery, trains, automobiles, the telegraph have played important parts in his own colossal life! Fifty years of public service, in prison and out, wrestling daily with practical details and harsh realities in the political world, have only increased his balance, open-mindedness, sanity, and humorous appreciation of the quaint human spectacle.

....service can have no meaning unless one takes pleasure in it. When it is done for show or for fear of public opinion, it stunts the man and crushes his spirit. Service which is rendered without joy helps neither the servant nor the served.

With charity, money is purified. By service, our actions are purified. With music, our emotions are purified and with knowledge our intellect is purified.

There are only two ways: either we love-and love in action is service - or we put hatred into action and destroy.

The stone neither speaks nor gives anything. Therefore its service is fruitless and its worship is of no avail.

Real renunciation, whether one is a sannyasi, vanaprastha, grihastha or brahmachari, is to use the body, mind, words and life in the service of Krishna, vaisnavas and other living beings.

Wherever we find the teachings, the association, and the inspiration to purify our lives, to lead a life of integrity and humility, and to live in a spirit of selfless service that’s where we are going to find the deepest experience of God.

Blessed is the servant who loves his brother as much when he is sick and useless as when he is well and can be of service to him. And blessed is he who loves his brother as well when he is afar off as when he is by his side, and who would say nothing behind his back he might not, in love, say before his face.

The pain of the world will sear and break our hearts because we can no longer keep them closed. We've seen too much now. To some degree or other, we have surrendered into service and are willing to pay the price of compassion. But with it comes the joy of a single, caring act. With it comes the honor of participating in a generous process in which one rises each day and does what one can. With it comes the simple, singular grace of being an instrument of Love, in whatever form, to whatever end.

Every morning I offer my body, my mind and any ability that I posses, to be used by Thee, O infinite creator, in whatever way Thou dost choose to express Thyself through me. I know that all work is Thy work, and that no task is too difficult or too menial when offered to Thee in loving service.

If we really want to love, if we really want to live, we must love until it hurts . . . No Rotarian whose motto is Service Above Self, I think, should call himself a Rotarian if he does not make time to serve . . . If we love, we begin to serve.

The goal of life is not the earning of money, but the service of God.

Let my hands be of service to people. Let me earn wisdom through my hands. Let my hands do good work.

The more we advance in Krishna consciousness, the more we have to strengthen our service attitude, in order to bear the weight of responsibility.

Plant the seeds of Love in your hearts. Let them grow into trees of Service and shower the sweet fruit of Ananda. Share the Ananda with all. That is the proper way to celebrate the Birthday.

Pleasure simply brings more craving, but the problem is that we try to get contentment through pleasure. True contentment can only come through service.

Service broadens your vision, widens your awareness. Deepens your compassion.
